Meet our Vet Nurses
Rebecca Lock RVN
Becky has been in practice for over 20 years. She trained and worked in Hertfordshire, where she had the privilege of working with exotic animals including meerkats, tigers and lions.
Since joining Penmellyn in 2006, she has enjoyed working with both large and small animals.
In 2011 Becky was asked to join our Pool team to help get our new practice off the ground; she has thoroughly enjoyed watching this practice grow and loves the personal interaction they have at Pool with both clients and their pets.
She has many animals including, cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and tortoises. Becky loves all areas of her work, but has a special passion for behaviour in cats and small animals.
Outside of work Becky is a trained aromatherapist and reflexologist, and enjoys walking her family of dogs.
Kerry-Ann Dunstan – RVN
Kerry-Ann has been in practice since 2004, and qualified in 2007 in St Austell.
She comes from Cornwall and lives near to Truro, and she is very keen to develop the awareness of nurse consultations and looks forward to meeting you and your beloved pets. She runs our puppy parties at Pool.
Outside of work Kerry-Ann is a competitive horse rider and competes in eventing most weekends during the summer. She also has a springer spaniel ‘Georgie’ who is full of energy still at a good old age!
Her young son also shares her love for animals and the countryside.
Faye Taylor – RVN
After graduating with BSc Hons Animal Science (companion and zoo animals) and working as a zookeeper; Faye moved to Cornwall from Essex in summer 2014, to begin her veterinary nurse training and she passed in February 2017.
She has a black Labrador called Harvey, and three chinchillas called Sapphire, Oscar and Pearl.
Kelly Solway- RVN
Kelly has been a qualified vet nurse for nearly 8 years & only recently joined Penmellyn in November 2016, starting first in our Newquay branch before moving closer to home, to our branch in Pool.
Before becoming a nurse, Kelly studied Equine studies with management at Berkshire College of Agriculture. Most of her free time is spent with her own pets; she has 2 Golden Retrievers, 3 Cats, 3 horses & a pony!!
She enjoys competing her horses when she can & taking her dogs out to anywhere they can get muddy!! She also used to keep dart frogs, enjoys learning about exotics & has a special interest in anything feline related.
Another passion of Kelly’s is to take part once a year in a banger rally challenge (run by St Austell Roundtable) in which her & a team of friends drive a banger across Europe to raise money for many different Cornish charities.
